The unwritten Law- The Inner Voice

Image
The Law existed even before 10 Commandments   Moses the greatest prophet of the Israelites who led them out of Egypt received the Ten Commandments in the 13th Century BC. That is about 1443 years before the birth of Jesus. During Moses' time, the law or the Ten Commandments came into force or effect. Until then, how did people live and what laws governed them? Were there any other laws?  If you trace the history of Noah, we find God commanded or ordered 7 things not to do. It is popularly known as the seven laws of Noah found in Talmud as a binding set of laws for the Children of Noah that is all of humanity. According to the Jewish tradition, if anyone adheres to the Law of Noah, even non-Jews, were assured of a place in the final reward of the righteous. The Seven Laws of Noah include  • Prohibitions against worshiping  idols  • Cursing God  • Murder  • Adultery  • Sexual Immorality  • Theft  • eating flesh f...

A Rule of Man and the laws of God never Changes.

A Rule of Man and the laws of God never Changes The Ten Commandments is very dear and close to the heart of Jesus as it had come from the Father Himself. Jesus loved His Father. He obeyed His Father all the time irrespective of circumstances. For Jesus, spiritually speaking, love means obedience to the Father. Jesus submitted His will and lived for God’s Will. He wanted to uphold the Law and its spirit. He wanted to breathe a New Spirit into the Law hitherto as God-breathed His spirit in Man and Man came alive. The new Moses, Jesus breathed his love into the law and the Spirit of the Law came to effect during Jesus’ period. Jesus is not only for the law but ensured that the Spirit of the Law that is love is upheld all the time. In Mathew 5:17-18, Jesus himself said,  "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them. For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a ...

The Spirit of the Commandment Matters Most

Image
More than the Letter of the Commandments   Jesus during his lifetime clearly stated that the law is made for man and man is not for the law. The Lord of Sabbath said in Mark 2:27 "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath . Jesus emphasised and underscored that Man is more important than anything else in the creation, for Man carries the image of God and His Spirit dwells in every man.   Once Pharisees complained to Jesus about the apostles who picked some heads of grain along the grain fields. The Pharisees said to him, "Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?" He answered, "Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need? In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions." Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sab...

The Spirit of Ten commandments

Image
Welcome to the new Series- The Spirit of Ten commandments   An Introduction to the Commandments.     Ten Commandments is one of the keys for a strong foundation for Christian life and a Highway to Heaven.   The introduction to the commandments given here is not primarily of a historical one nor a theological base. It is rather a spiritually oriented deliberation and how God intended to help souls walk on the right and righteous path amidst the chaos of the world.  In the beginning, when the world was in chaos, God used His WORD to settle and subdue the chaos and brought about orderliness. In the same way, God wanted man to use the Commandments that is, His Word to clear up all the chaos by practising it and create an orderly society of love. The kingdom of God is nothing but the orderly society of love where love gushes out from everyone and returns to its source that is God himself. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and d...
