Empty your Cup to learn from Jesus
The Law is inscribed in
our heart or Soul yet one has to learn from Jesus for He is gentle and humble.
God has written the law in our hearts. The unwritten law that
existed during Adam's time was a law of conscience. Later, God presented the
Israelites with the Ten Commandments. During Jeremiah’s time, He made a new
covenant with the Israelites and declared,
"I will put my law in their minds and write it on their
hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.’ St Paul writes to the Corinthians,
‘It is clear that you are a letter from Christ, the result of
our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not
on tablets of stone but tablets of human hearts” 2 Cor 3:3.
So, it is apparent that the law is inscribed in our
hearts. The Lord is the Master and the Teacher. What does God do after
inscribing the Law or the Commandments in our Soul?
He declares, “No
longer will each man teach his neighbour or his brother, saying, ‘Know the
LORD,’ because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest.
For I will forgive their iniquities and will remember their sins no more.’ Jer
31:34.
No Human Teachings
God does not want human teachings. Most of us today do not
understand what God wants from us because preachers do not sit at the feet of
the Lord to learn the hidden mysteries of the Sacred Scriptures. Most of the
preachers resigned to what they knew already or lean on someone’s sermons for
homilies. Neither one digs deep what the Gospel authors intended to speak
through the Scripture passage nor does one fathom the hidden manna that God has
reserved only for the victors. Jesus boldly quoted Isaiah to retort the Scribes
and Pharisees saying,
'The
things they teach are nothing
but human rules they have memorized.’” Isaiah 29:13
St. Paul, after learning everything at the feet of the great
Gamaliel, boasted about his knowledge on the Jewish Law. But after the
encounter with Jesus, He called all his learning rubbish. He counted
everything rubbish and foolish and wanted only one thing -The surpassing
knowledge of gaining Jesus. Paul boldly and bravely declares, 'I did not receive it from any man,
nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ'.
Gal 1:12. He learnt it all from Jesus.
God Teaches...
When Cain was about to sin, God instructed Cain. Read Gen
4:6.
Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is
right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is
crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”
After Cain committed a sin and murdered his brother once again
God questioned Cain “Where
is your brother Abel?”
When Cain lied that he did not know where his brother was and
questioned God, God did not shy away from speaking his mind out. Let us listen
to the conversation to have an insight into how God interacts with Cain.
God asked Cain, “where is your brother?”
“I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”
The LORD said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood
cries out to me from the ground. Now you are under a curse and driven from the
ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.
When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will
be a restless wanderer on the earth.”
Whatever one calls the voice of God, be it conscience or a rule
of man, or the voice of the Soul, God instructs people even today. If we
incline our hearts to God and decide to walk in His ways, we could hear His
voice instructing us. Learn from Jesus, he is gentle and humble.
A Zen Story on Learning
A university professor went to visit a famous Zen master. While
the master quietly served tea, the professor bragged about Zen. The master
poured the visitor's cup to the brim, and then kept pouring. The professor
watched the overflowing cup until he could no longer restrain himself.
"It's full! No more will go in!" the professor blurted. "This is
you," the master replied, "How can I teach you Zen unless you first
empty your cup?"
Sit at the feet of the Lord to learn the mysteries of life after
death. It is easy I promise. But before that ensure your cup is empty so that
God’s wisdom fills your empty vessel. Trust me, it is not that easy. But your
Master is gentle and humble.

God is the best guide and advicer . God instructs each and everyone of us in our day to day life . God speaks to us in a very gentle and humble way . But in today's world we indulge in worldly pleasures and we keep listening to the rubbish advices which r said by ppl who r around us . So it's very important to listen to wat God speaks rather than listening to ppl who r around us .
ReplyDeleteThere is no greatest tutor than Jesus in this world .so it is necessary to seek the guidance from our beloved Jesus, to learn the law which is written in our soul and this happens, only when our cup is empty. Thus we should be humble enough to sit under the feet of the lord to learn the hidden secrets of life after death.
ReplyDeleteI used to think that reciting prayers would be sufficient to get me a seat in heaven. But by listening to your interpretations and God-given knowledge I have come to know that there is so much more & that I've been lukewarm all these years. Your blogs give me a lot of motivation to know the lord more. Now , I sit speaking with the lord everyday and feel his power and presence in my life. God takes up precedence over everything else now. Thank you - Lilly
