True Worship Part I
Ture worship Definition by
Jesus
In order to understand the idol worship in its perspective, one
should understand the meaning of True Worship. Jesus unequivocally has given a
definition for true worship: One worships in spirit and in truth. Unlike other
Gospel authors, John captured the essence of the conversation between Jesus and
a certain woman at the well.
John 4:23-24 reads “Yet a time is coming and has now come when
the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they
are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his
worshippers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
Be Born Again
It clearly says the true worshipers worship the Father in the
Spirit and in truth. In preparation to worship God in Truth and in Spirit, one
has to be born again in Water and in Spirit. John the Baptist testified and prophesied that he baptised with
water for repentance, but Jesus would baptise with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Matt 3:11. Here we
know for sure that Jesus was talking about the Baptism of a different kind. One
is Baptism by water and the other is Baptism with the Holy Spirit and fire.
First Cleansing
The soul which has an immortal spirit has to be born to true
life by means of two things: through
water and the Spirit.
It is a two-fold cleansing. The water that flows from the side of Jesus
cleanses us from the original sin and reconciles with Father. That is why
during Baptism water is symbolically used as a cleansing agent for sins.
Because water represents the water from the side of Jesus. Though poured
outside on our head in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
it cleanses our Soul from the original sin which is inside.
The Second cleansing
It is done by the Holy Spirit. But the greater is the Spirit,
without whom water is but a symbol. He who has been cleansed through the water
must then purify himself through the Spirit. Through the Spirit, he must become
inflamed and shine if he wishes to live in the bosom of God here and in the
eternal Kingdom. The mystery here is when the original sin is cancelled, the
Father bestows the Spirit on us so that the Holy Spirit connects each one of us
and unites us in the family of Trinity.
Subdue the Flesh
The flesh has to be subdued so that the Spirit emerges out to
operate at His free will. As Jesus said what is born of the flesh is flesh and
will remain flesh and dies with flesh after serving it in its carnal lusts and
sins. But what is born of the Spirit is spirit and it lives going back to the
Spirit of which it was born, after bringing up its own spirit to the perfect
age. The Kingdom of Heaven will be inhabited only by those beings which have
reached a perfect spiritual age. In the flesh, it is very difficult to connect
to the Father as God is Spirit.
How do we subdue the flesh? Though many ways are in vague, two keyways
are essential to subdue the flesh. First, one has to subdue the flesh and cause
his spirit to revive by putting his ego on the fire of love. By doing so, one
burns all matters of the flesh. From the ashes there arise his fresh spiritual
flower that always turns towards the eternal Sun. The second one is laying the
axe of honest meditation to the root of one’s old way of thinking and old
habits that hinder the Spirit to act freely. One should uproot the old plant
leaving only the shoot of goodwill, of which one has caused his new thoughts to
be born. Of course, everybody has his own method of reaching the harbour. Every
wind is good provided one knows how to unfurl the sails. A son knows the voice
of his father, the spirit knows the voice of the Spirit of which it was born.
Remember Jesus told a certain woman at the well, You Samaritans worship what you do not
know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. The true worship is one should know whom one is worshipping that
is truth and the second one has to worship in Spirit for God is spirit. And the
Spirit is the truth. Rest of the worships are idol worship.

No one can enter into the kingdom of God unless he /she is born of water and spirit. The one who lives according to flesh will die but the one who lives according to the holy spirit will live forever. It's important that we should subdue our flesh and allow the holy spirit to work in us.

To worship in spirit & truth is to follow the path way which Jesus laid out in His teachings.Father forgive me,I repent for being more excited about anything more than You...Let your Holy Spirit take control of my heart ,mind, soul & spirit.
