Who is this One God?

Who is this One God?

There is only one God. Most of the major religions like Judaism, Islam and Christianity believe in and promote monotheism. The above said three Abrahamic religion easily fits into monotheistic religion and call themselves Children of One Father. These religions which form the major sections of the world population promote the worship of one God and while denying the existence of other gods. There are around 4300 religion in the world and each one has its own understanding about the existence of God.

This one God is everywhere

The commandment is intended to give man Grace and Life. In the Ten Commandments, the first word of the Father and Lord is this: “I am the Lord Your God.” There is not one instant of the day in which this word is not uttered by the voice of God and is not written by His finger. Where? Everywhere. It is repeated continuously by everything. By grass and stars, by water and fire, by wool and food, by light and darkness, by health and illness, by wealth and poverty. Everything says: “I am the Lord. We received that from God. There is no power of armies or of defence that can shield us from God’s will.” It shouts in the voice of the wind, it sings in the murmur of water, it gives off the scent in the sweet smell of flowers, it is engraved on mountain tops, and it whispers, speaks, calls and shouts in consciences: “I am the Lord your God.”

 Keep your Conscience alive

Never forget that! Do not close your eyes and your ears. Do not suffocate your consciences, so that you may not hear that word. In any case, it stands and the moment will come when it will be written by the fiery finger of God on the walls of banqueting halls as it had happened to King Belshazzar or on the sands of rough seas as Jesus wrote it on the sand in the incident of adulterous woman, on the smiling lips of a child, or on the pallor of a dying old man, on a sweet-smelling rose or on a fetid sepulchre. The moment will come when in the happiness of wine and pleasure, in the bustle of the business, in the rest at night, during a lonely walk, it will raise its voice and say: “I am the Lord your God” the Companion who will not abandon you, the Guest you cannot drive out.

God is Guest and Companion

Are you good? Then the guest and companion are a good Friend. Are you wicked and guilty? Then the guest and companion become the angry King and gives no peace. But He does not leave you. Separation from God is granted only to damned souls. But the separation is their unappeasable and eternal torture.

God’s name

In the burning bush encounter, Moses asked God, 'who are you and what is your name? God replied, 'I am who I am, or I am what I am'. (Exodus 3:14).Moses asked again what if the Israelites asked me who had sent me? God replied, "Say this to the people of Israel, 'I am has sent me to you. This statement clearly tells us that I am without equal and incomparability of God. Though Moses did not comprehend the meaning of I am who I am, gradually he experienced God and to the extent, he wanted to see Him always and wanted to be in His presence.

Find out what is I am who I am

Moses was given time to experience God. Moses used his common sense to understand the work of God in his life personally and in Israelites. Later he applied his personal will to grow so close to God that he wanted His presence all the time. He even said, "If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. His encounters with God became an experience. He quickly learnt to stitch a series of experiences into a deeper relationship with God. He became a friend of God. The scripture says, “The LORD would speak to Moses, face to face, as one speaks to a friend.” Moses discovered the meaning of I am the Lord during his lifetime.

Jesus is the Lord

It is our turn to discover the meaning of “I am who I am, or I am the Lord your God”. Each one of us is given a preordained time and common sense to apply for oneself. It is our free will that determines between the true God and demi-gods. One should learn the art of stitching encounters into a beautiful tapestry of experiences and continue to stitch experiences further into a wedding garment for the final banquet. Use your time, common sense and free will diligently and know that Jesus is the Lord!

  1. Jesus is the living god and only he can redeem . We can listen to him only when we remove these barriers from our life which stops us to go closer to god . Barriers I.e anger , not surrendering our weakness to god I.e sorrow ,anxiety, revenge etc , ignoring word of god in our daily life , not thanking our lord who is helping us to replenish ourself to become new daily . The only prayer I ask to god is for forgiveness for our sins . Amen

  3. "The LORD would speak to Moses, face to face, as one speaks to a friend".
Thank you for this beautiful message which strengthens our faith.
Can I have little more clarification on encountering, experiencing and further getting into a deeper relationship without seeing face to face just with faith.

    1. The very word faith means, according to St Paul "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.
You have not seen yet believe in God. Hope to see him one day, but not now. Jesus himself said to Thomas, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
This is one kind of an experience and really speaking it needs long endurance. Our mind ad body is designed such a way that we would like to see, hear, touch and feel. This is human nature. When Jesus spoke about and to Thomas, he did not mean that he should desire to see God. Because Thoms was dried up and drained out of all hope and found it difficult to believe in. The context was entirely different. When everybody believed in the resurrection of Jesus, Thomas doubted.
On the other hand, I encourage each one of you to desire for God, desire to see, feel and touch. Because God is a person and more real than you and me. When He is willing to show himself and reveal himself to us, why the mere mortal limit our desire to only faith.
Instead of operating on faith, I suggest that we should operate in LOVE to experience real time Jesus. For Jesus is REAL.

  4. We have only one true God. He's the best companion who will never abandon us at any situation. He's always there for us , but often we people fail to recognise his presence in our lives. Only when we move closer to God we can feel his presence. In order to move closer to God we shld first believe tat our Jesus is the only true God.
